Hello hello hi :D I find myself with a spare hour or so, and so I meme
Total Word Count for Fanfic: ~131,873 (~60,193 of that is These Four Kings)(and I didn't include any from Incline because I wouldn't know how to count it)
Total Number of Stories: 18
Fandoms: Lotrips/The Hobbit, MWPP (Harry Potter)
My favourite story this year: Spinning Clocks, a remus/sirius time travel story, which was actually a pinch hit for
shaggydog_swap
My best story of the year: I think it's the same as my favorite? Though I do love a lot of things I do in These Four Kings, especially with Peter.
Story most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Hands down The Old Lie, my r/s big bang. It was torture to write so there could never be enough love to make up for it. And I have ALL THE FEELINGS IN THE WORLD about it, but I shall spare us all.
Most fun story: When I Grow Up a MWPP gen story where Remus and Snape suffer a Potions accident and are de-aged. I had great fun writing it, and I think it's a fun read, too.
Sexiest story: I wrote kink bingo stories! Proof r/s spanking story (what what) and Lost r/s outdoor sex and surprise role playing. I don't write smut nearly as much as I used to. Point of fact, I've written nearly 150,000 words of These Four Kings so far and just this last chapter was the first sexual contact between r/s and even then it was so vague as to be missed unless you look hard (hard. ehe).
Hardest story to write: Hands down: The Old Lie. Omg so much whinging.
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them? I don't know that I did, actually. I wrote het, which shouldn't seem like a challenge but totally is for me. I wrote femslash, which I had never done before, at least not really. That was fun. For a long time I didn't like writing writing female characters because I didn't know how (despite being one myself, which is just odd--not being a woman :D but being reticent to write them because it seemed harder). I'm much more comfortable so I guess I did learn something. I just think, "make them awesome" (as in, have them do something besides be a plot point for the man. give them adventures, too)
Do you have any goals for the New Year? I am going to finish These Four Kings, and after that, I don't know--at least in r/s fandom. I've sworn off fests this year because I did too many last year but we'll see how long that lasts...
I have other writing goals but it's funny. I love writing and I love talking about it, but I won't talk about original stuff here (anymore). Someone said something (that I found) hurtful to me about it months ago and I can't get the voice of it out of my head. It's like before I discovered fanfic and kept all my writings extremely private, except I'm still more than willing to share fanfic.
I spent a rather busy morning with my mind elsewhere, which is a hard way to get things done. I was plotting These Four Kings because while I have a few big moments (big chapters already written), I felt like their last few months needed something, so I've been thinking about that. And then I discovered that whilst on autopilot I had certified loans without actually putting them on our system as available to use, which was a problem :D So had to "lick that calf over again," as a coworker is fond of saying.
My RHCP concert was rescheduled because Anthony Kiedis injured his foot and had to have surgery. It'll be April now. As I told the girl I'm going with, I'm really just in this for Flea (bassist) so he could have shown up on his own and played, and I'd been happy enough.
I watched Amelie last night. I own it but hadn't watched it in a while. It's such a wonderful movie. I love it to bits. {I also watched Persuasion again, which is also perfection :D It's so strange, my love for this movie, and it's not even because I'm secretly having fantasties about Captain Wentworth or Anne (or them together). I love the acting, and the story, and the way it's been filled. It's just so incredibly beautiful, and deftly done. I love watching it.}
I had another thought but I can't remember...
