I woke up from a nightmare this morning around 5ish. It was kind of a "oh brain, you're really not that subtle" sort of thing, which I actually found kind of funny but terrifying enough to not be able to sleep again. ( Read more...but it's just dream stuff, so maybe not? )
Anyway. Meme! It's international book week. The rules: Grab the closest book to you, turn to page 52, post the 5th sentence as your status. Don't mention the title. Copy the rules as part of your post.
There's not a fifth sentence on page 52, so have the fourth:
But to think in terms of pessimism or optimism oversimplifies the truth. The problem is to see reality as it is.
Which reminds me, I was reading an article about meditation yesterday and came across this idea:
you're drilling so many wells that you don't go deep enough to find water. It was referring to trying so many styles of meditation but not sticking with any long enough to see what works but I think that sums up so much about my life. I'm working toward changing that.
To work. Last day of testing, thank goodness, and I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get back to my office before lunch, which would be fantastic. I plan to do nothing except things I want to do. In my book, once I start having nightmares, then work has taken enough of a toll for the week.
