Ahhh, Regulus just breaks my heart. I'm amazed at how you can get inside the heads of so many varying characters! I think you've really nailed his mindset here, his outlook on situations, and his carefully suppressed loneliness. The way he sees everything as a tactic or strategy, and insults Remus so freely without even really being aware of it.
Love the Marauder dynamic as seen and interpreted by Regulus. The moment he realizes that Remus is the one who truly knows Sirius now, not himself, is so painful.
And, OMG, stupid Sirius! What is he doing with a girlfriend? Why can't they both be clever and marginally insightful at the same time, rather than taking turns!
