One of the LJ questions of the day is, "Name five songs to which you know all the lyrics", which was cruel because then I was immediately earwigged with the one song I know best of any others: Beastie Boys' "Paul Revere" (Now here's a little story I've got to tell about three bad brothers you know so well. It started way back in history with Adrock, M.C.A., and me, Mike D. Been had a little horsie named Paul Revere--just me, my horsie and a quart of beer. Ridin' across land, kicking up sand, Sheriff's posse on my tail because I'm in demand. *sigh* How much did I love that tape (because I totally had the cassette tape) when I was young? A lot.)

I think the only other songs I know by heart (well, I know TONS when the music is playing, yeah? but just to recite lyrics off the top of my head...) is Gershwin's "Summertime" (the Sam Cooke version), r.e.m.'s "Country Feedback" (You come to me with a bone in your hand, you come to me with your hair curled tight, you come to me with positions. You come to me with excuses ducked out in a row. You wear me out. You wear me out. <--and how many times have I sung that about an ex? Many many many.) What else... "Sloop John B" by the Beach Boys, the only Beach Boys song that I like and I make up for it by liking it a lot.

Mike D. grabbed the money, M.C.A. snatched the gold. I grabbed two girlies and a beer that's cold. (Seriously, it'll be days before this song is out of my head again.)
