At the start of yoga class today, my instructor hugged me really tight for a really long time and then I collapsed into a snotty puddle of ugly crying since I'm a tiny bit of a mess right now and trying to hide behind a new super old fandom to pretend like nothing is wrong (i.e., my usual m.o.), and then she hugged me again after, and I didn't burst into tears this time, which I think is an improvement. I think it was the super extended pigeon poses. Class was about being kind to ourselves, so I took the advice and gave myself a latte and a slice of lemon cake, which I'm eating right now. Also, I think when I get back from my travels, I'm going to look for a new job. I can't do much about my family, but holy smokes why I am still in this job?

Also, this happened:

My mom goes into the kitchen, leaving her hazelnut frappucino unguarded, little suspecting that at that very moment, a ninja cat with a sweet tooth was on the prowl.

Me: Jeeeeeed Nononononononono
Mom: What's he into?
Me: ...nothing
Mom: Do I need a new straw?
Me: Nooooooo, your straw's safe...
Mom: Then what.... Jed!
Jed *busy licking whipped cream halo from his face*

That's a pretty damn safe place to do the ugly crying. ♥ Yes to new job potentials, especially because after the short DC break you may feel even more refreshed, I'm thinking. Unless you were thinking after even more extended travels, and that would work, too. You need to do what's healthiest for you.
