The worst thing about my poor dead laptop and having to use my work laptop to pursue my somewhat dodgy hobby of writing porn for the internet is that I can't research in the manner to which I'm accustomed. What is the average length of the British penis? Has this been documented on wikipedia? Does my story now have an inaccurate detail?

I miss reference pictures, too.

If you're using Firefox for your browser, there is a private browsing option - none of what you do in the private window will show up in your search history.

Of course, if it's a matter of coworkers being able to see your screen, etc., then that won't really help you.

I shall figure that one out then. I have an office, so I'm not worried about coworkers, and usually I do anything personal at home on my work laptop. I just don't want to do anything that would considered terribly dodgy (in a politically conservative state, as I'm a state worker) on a machine that isn't mine.

I inevitably end up finding myself with a spare minute at work and thinking, 'I wish I could research', so I feel your pain. Mine isn't peen (at the moment, anyway) it's hockey stats, but it still looks dodgy to the co-workers.

:D It's not always dirty, the things I want to look up, sometimes it's perfectly lovely things, like recipes or crafts or biographies or minke whales :D I just really miss having my own laptop so that I don't have to think "will this pop up if someone does a sweep"? I don't think they do sweeps, but I know they have the ability and the right so that I suffer a pang of guilt when I'm at work and wander onto wiki.
