So, things you clearly need not to know but I'm waiting for some files to run and print.
This was a weird fandom week, in that I've read a lot of SPN. I've never actually seen SPN and when I saw a picture of Dean and Sam, I was reminded that I don't find them remotely attractive. (SORRY! I know some of you do. I don't find them ugly, just really not my type, is what I mean. I can totally see why others would find them attractive. It's like David Boreanaz. I can see it but I'm really not feeling it.) Anyway. I went into it for the kink because I have literally read every Suits fic out there (and reread and yeah, totally love the kink :D) and I oddly don't care for reading kink with Remus/Sirius (I have and I do on occasion but that's not what I look for when I read Remus/Sirius fic. I am all about the characterization and h/c). And I'm totally not interested in finding the really good (non-kinky) SPN fic, either. I apparently have a very specific SPN taste, and it is dirty as hell :D It's honestly too bad it didn't hit me with Teen Wolf because AO3 (the easiest place to find a specific kink) is flooded. I don't find those boys appealing either but for completely different reasons.
Anyway, I was reading these ridiculously kinky stories (I'm totally not saying what the kink was as I'm undecided how I feel about realllllllly getting into it. them. It was was multiple. Well, actually, it's more like one thing led to another and then hey! I didn't know I had that kink but apparently.) and all I want is for it (it being the specific scenario that I found most appealing and which held all the kink together) to be Harvey/Mike now. Which led me to think, would I write that? (you know, if I was writing). I've definitely written kink (mostly spanking, I suppose) and pwp but I get embarrassed by it when I think it's really dirty, you know? Which is weird. I have like a barometer--how dirty I'm willing to write and share. Blowjobs are good, no trouble there. Penetrative sex? Sure. Spanking, okay. Rough sex? yeah. Something somewhere makes me twitch though, like watersports, for example, which isn't what I was reading this week but I have read and enjoyed, particularly (or really, only) when it was Remus/Sirius and tied up with being possessive and it was a territorial werewolf thing (as in, it made sense in context--his kink explained). I guess that's kind of it. It's not that I'm into it as a "kink for kink's sake"--I wouldn't read any story or any pairing that featured that kink. I need the story. I need the kink explained and to have it make sense for the character in question.
Someone somewhere recently posted a ven diagram showing that what I think is okay in fantasy doesn't always align with what I think is okay in real life, and not in a "I'm in denial, I really want it" kind of way but jealousy? possessiveness? Not okay with me in real life and I'm squidgy about myself when I feel those emotions, even when it's just my french fries (which I seriously hate sharing, even if it's just one) but in fic? Bring it baby. I love when Harvey (just for example) "claims" Mike (really, just for example :D) and gets all possessive but in real life, I'd want to stage an intervention and get Mike out of there. I'm not feeling guilty about liking what I like but embarrassed a bit at some of it and working through that.
I was also reading SPN RPF because apparently I was being really indiscriminate about my SPN kinky needs, and found that the name Padelecki really throw me out of a story. Like, in the same way that seeing "then" being used when someone means "than" throws me out (it totally does). I was good with Jared but as soon as someone said "Mr. Padelecki" it just didn't work for me. It's really weird what the brain does. Also, who is Misha? He's the guy who looks like Karl Urban, right?
ETA: I'm up to speed on Misha now but I'm not the only one who thinks he could be Karl Urban's brother, right? That's not just me.

He plays Castiel on SPN. He would probably get into the kink with you since his wife literally wrote the book on threesomes. ;)

As in, she wrote a book on threesomes. That Charlie Sheen apparently made really famous by posting a picture of himself with said book. ;)

I actually missed all of Charlie Sheen's ridiculousness so I didn't know about the picture. The amount of popular culture I'm familiar with could fit on the tip of a pin. I suspect in this case, I'm not missing a thing.
So, I've hesitated watching SPN because I thought it would be scary (I'm a wuss). Is it "scary" like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which I could watch because I found it more funny, or scary like X-Files, which I couldn't watch.

Eh... Bit of both? There are definitely eps that fit under the "crack" criteria especially in s3&4 (I think) onwards. But there are definitely some that are a bit on the scary side. I got a bit of a shock here and there through s1, but pretty much got used to it after that. And XF was scary?? Really?? I mean, I found bits of it more disgusting (as in the gory bits, do they really have to use that much slime and its associated squelching sound effects?) rather than scary.

Oh come on, Misha totally does not look like Karl Urban! At least not to me... *stares at pics of them both*
Nope, still don't see it.
Also, Misha's a troll, Karl is a geeky fanboy. ;)

I totally prefer Karl, hands down. He was perfect as Eomer. You'll ruin Misha for me entirely if you tell me he's a Republican (or holds similar conservative views). It's such a turn-off. Annnnnd I totally just googled Misha troll ahaha yeah. This is a road I don't want to go down.

Misha? Conservative??!?! In the mirror universe maybe!

I need the story. I need the kink explained and to have it make sense for the character in question.
And this, to me, makes all the sense in the world, and makes you my ideal reader. Co-writer, too, obvs. <3

See, I doubted (and was troubled) because I didn't know the SPN characters and the writers were pretty interchangeable with both Jared/Jensen and Dean/Sam rather than (almost) always making the younger of the two the more submissive, and yet in all the stories that I chased to the end, the characterizations in the story always made sense. Just good writing, I suppose.

New kink: I find myself surprisingly fine with brotherly love when it's Fili/Kili.

I'll admit that I didn't mind a bit of Elijah/Hannah every now and again but yeah, I've read some Fili/Kili fic that I've enjoyed.
